    Injury News and Updates

    Leafs injuries to date
(^This is Snet's dedicated page to Leafs injuries^)

I thought we could use this one thread to keep all injury updates in one spot rather than in multiple threads.

    Still out:

Feb 12, 2013: Matt Frattin - Knee (IR)
Feb 11, 2013: James Reimer - Mildly strained left MCL (IR)
Jan 29, 2013: Mike Brown - Shoulder (IR)
Jan 23, 2013: Joffrey Lupul - Fractured forearm (IR)
Jan 17, 2013: Jake Gardiner - Concussion-like symptoms (IR) *Now with Marlies*

All players have began skating. Post any updates or news if you want.

@markhmasters: James Reimer participating in 1st Leafs practice since knee injury; also took part in Wed's optional & part of yesterday's morning skate

@markhmasters: Colton Orr (lower body) is on the ice at Leafs practice, but in green jersey w/ 4th-line group (McLaren, Brown, Steckel)

BOLD: Carlyle said when the bold happens that he wouldn't be "too far off". Let's hope so.

^ I forgot about Orr. I just copied and pasted what snet had on their site. I thought we could just continually add injuries by posting but if you guys want to add to the OP like the spec thread, then i can.

    Latest i found on Orr:

David Alter via twitter: Maple Leafs Colton Orr will have an MRI on his injury this morning at 8:00 am.
That being today @ 8am, i havent found any new updates but if anyone can find anything please post.

Jonas Siegel reports that winger Colton Orr’s lower body injury that made him miss the Buffalo game is expected to keep him out an additional 1 to 2 games.

Would like to see Optimus Reim back between the pipes soon as it looks to be the case. Also heard that Lupe is back up and skating so that is good news.

Yup beat me to it. Frattin cleared, full contact practice. Looks like he's going to suit up Monday against NJD.

So now Lupul is about a week away... Gardiner is healthy and playing in the AHL. Going to be interesting to see who's in and who's out. I would assume Frattin skates with Kadri again.

    JVR - Bozak - Kessel

    Kulemin - Grabovski - MaCarthur

    Frattin - Kadri - Komarov

    Orr - McClement - McClaren

    Out: Brown

Now when Lupul gets back... makes it even tougher. I would assume:

    Lupul - Bozak - Kessel

    JVR - Grabovski - Kulemin

    MaCarthur - Kadri - Frattin

    Komarov - McClement - Orr/McClaren?

    Tough call.

IMO when lupul gets back this team needs to make a trade... luckily it wont be too far from the deadline after you give lupul some games in.
good timing to make room and get some picks/center if possible

I don't know why you would put a shoot first center with JVR...Grabovski should be playing on the 3rd line in a defensive role...I hope it looks more like this when everyone is healthy

    Lupul - Bozak - Kessel

    JVR - Kadri - Frattin

    MaCarthur - Grabovski - Kulemin

    Komarov - McClement - Orr/McClaren

JVR had some good chemistry with Frattin and Kadri before the injury

I agree with the top 2 lines but I don't see Orr or Mclaren leaving the lineup. My best bet is that Macarthur and Komarov split time on the Grabo line until the team makes a move of some sort, we would also have to make a few moves because you can't have 25 men on your roster. Komisarek sent down maybe? Steckel? who knows.
