    Cap Room

I just read that the Eagles were $20 million under the cap. If I am not mistaken weren't they way under last year also?

How is it that every year we are over the cap and have to shred players or redo contracts and a team like the Eagles seem to always be under ?

My guess is that they have no roster depth. Also, they restructured Vick's contract. That saved them a ton of money. The eagles have a cap website that shows the numbers: http://www.eaglescap.com/current.html

If you look at the website you will definately see that they really have no roster depth. The website also shows that if the current roster is intact for next year, they will be $18M over the cap.

I could be wrong, but on that site it also looks like they're $25M under this year directly because they were $23M under last year (and carried that over). When you look at the actual salaries, they're only about $4M under, but last year is helping them out.

Also, I think the site is wrong for next year. Vick won't be earning $17.9M, he just re-signed a one year deal (and if/when they cut Nnamdi, they will be under).

that's true, there are mistakes there. At least we can all agree that they suck, and hopefully for many years to come.
