Right now we are on the outside looking in at the playoffs. #9 seed but tied with 16 points. Tomorrow is a big game. Beat Nashville and creep to 1 point behind them.

Nashville lost a tough one againt Colorado today 6-5. The Avs chased Mason from the net. The 2nd period was like a shooting gallery - 7 goals scored - 4 by the Avs - 3 by the Preds. Hopefully, the Preds will be gassed tomorrow and since Rinne had to come in the game, he won't be as rested. The Preds have a great defense and Rinne can be a wall, so the Wings need to come in and play for the entire 60 minutes.
The one thing it seemed you could count on with the Wings was for them to dominate the 3rd period. Lately, it seems like they only play hard in the 1st and then fall apart. I realize turnovers have hurt them in the last couple of games and have caused them to get behind, but I don't understand why they just quit playing.

Petr Mrazek has been sent down to the minors.
Detroit can afford to return him to the AHL now that Jonas Gustavsson (groin) has returned from his conditioning stint. He had a 2.01 GAA and .922 save percentage in two games this season.

The Detroit Red Wings have called up Jonas Gustavsson.
Gustavsson was in the minors on a conditioning stint after recovering from a groin injury. They will begin a stretch of four games in six days starting Tuesday, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Gustavsson get some work.

What is a reconditioning stint? Gustavsson played one game in GR and won. That's it. I just assumed he would play a couple of games before coming back. Guess I was wrong.

i doubt Monster starts tonite. At least I hope not. We need desparation tonite. Dropping 4 in a row would wreck whatever confidence this team has. 60 full minutes is all they need. I hope the PP clicks.

This will be the Wings 16th game which means a third of the season is over. I figure with the shortened season 60 points will be a lock for a playoff spot which is why losing these games the Wings should have won could come back to bite the Wings.

I see Howard in the net. He should be well rested and he needs to bring his "A" game tonight as does the rest of the team.

I think this is going to be a tough game. The Wings need to take advantage of the Preds playing back-to-back games.

Howard makes some amazing saves but the stupidity and no discipline whatsoever tends to make you lose. You would think they would learn that after being hurt by it so many times this season.
