Rams not expected to retain Amendola or Gibson (Danny to NE; Gibson to MIA)

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Rams and free agent Danny Amendola are "far apart" in contract negotiations.

Coach Jeff Fisher stated Friday that he wants Amendola re-signed, but this is the 27-year-old's first career crack at unrestricted free agency, and Amendola may want to shop his wares. The Post-Dispatch also considers fellow free agent Brandon Gibson's departure a foregone conclusion, leaving Austin Pettis, Chris Givens, and Brian Quick as the Rams' only receivers with NFL experience.
According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, free agent Brandon Gibson "doesn't appear likely" to return to the Rams.

The statement contradicts an early-February Rams website item calling Gibson St. Louis' free agent "most likely to (be) retain(ed)." Gibson had a couple of nice box-score games in 2012, but has been part of the problem and not the solution for the Rams' wideout corps. He's a No. 4 on a team with good receivers.

    Yeah no more Gibson!

I've got a feeling Danny will be in for a rude awakening if he he hits the open market. His injuries and lack of big play ability wil really hurt him.

For real, that's probably what will happen with Danny. He's gonna set all kinds of records if he signs with the Pats. Please come back Danny ray:

Seriously FO, just sign Danny, bring in Bowe, then turn to the draft to draft Warmack, Vacarro, one of the TEs in the second, and the offense is basically fixed.

As long as Gibson's gone, I consider this offseason a win.

Oh yeah that's right... no more Gibson and no more Dahl... I can't imagine how it's even possible for an off-season to be any more of a win!

no way we have enough money to sign Danny and Bowe. I like Bowe but I'd rather not spend the money and draft another WR. This class has tons of good ones.

I'm tired of drafting Wide receivers. **** that. They take too long to develop and have a retardedly high bust rate. It's going to be Sam's 4th season and he still hasn't had a #1 receiver.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says "at this point it looks like" Danny Amendola will be able to test the free-agent market.
"The Rams have their value on him. We'll see if he beats it in [free agency]," added Rapoport. The fragile slot receiver has missed 20 games over the last two seasons, and he isn't worth the $10-plus million on the franchise tag. Our own Evan Silva set Amendola's value at around $6 million per year in his Top 50 Free Agency Forecast. Rapoport names the 49ers and Patriots as suitors. Feb 28 - 2:20 PM

    Umm, 49ers? **** no!
