    Howard

i'm new here and i know this has been talked about a lot. but just wanted to see what other posters say about it.

I know you can tell howard don't want to be in L.A. bye the way he's been playing. but why don't he want to be a laker? what do you think L.A. will do to replace howard this summer?

A number of possible factors including having Mike D'antoni as a coach, having to play with a strong willed no BS in your face player that is Kobe Bryant, having to share the spot light with three other future HOFers, the extranueos pressures and expectation you have as a Laker, and the list goes on.... but in short he is just not mature enough to handle tough decisions, he lacks the resiliency to get through the situations he finds himself in so he finds blame elsewhere....I for one say trade him to BK so we wont be left with nothing at all...i really dont think Kobe desreves to go out like this with a non competitive squad waiting for the summer of 2014

I would enjoy seeing Kobe make a concerted effort and help Dwight get the All-star game MVP trophy today. That just may be what this team needs chemistry wise between their 2 biggest stars to get the 2nd half of the season off on a good note.

How the hell can you tell he doesn't want to be in L.A? He has been playing hurt all season long so far and is not 100%.

First off, welcome to the forum. Always nice to gain another Lakers fan.

Secondly, thank you for bringing up the Dwight Howard situation. It's something that hasn't been discussed here much.

Dwight's a coward. He can't play with a player on his team who is both better than him and incredibly demanding. Kobe has this uncanny desire to win, and Dwight just doesn't vibe with it.

Unfortunately, if he leaves we can't sign anyone to a huge contract to replace him this offseason. We'd have to wait.

    First of all, Welcome!
Secondly, Howard has shown that he doesn't want to be in Los Angeles not by his words, But his actions!
Throughout his career time and time again Howard has come up short when the chips are on the table. Granted he has been injured however, Even before his injury I would have said the same thing. We could have done better!

Actually sorry to DJ for that one. He puts more effort into his two minutes played on the floor than Howard's 35.

I love Howard but he can go........it will def suck IF he does get back to being the player he used to be with another team but there are to many IF's with him. Will he recover and be himself again? Will he leave us this summer? 2 IF's is a bad combo. Id take Lopez, Wallace and a pick in a instant. Id take Bledsoe and DJ, id take Jefferson and Milsap or Jefferson or Milsap with Burks. Id even take Rondo and either or Garnett/Pierce.

Howard is not a #1 guy. As soon as he realizes that he will have a chance to succeed. He doesnt have the killer mindframe and mean streak and his offense is not great at all. When he is healthy he is a defense monster and can get you 20 a night but if he is our #1 guy you wont win it all IMO.
