    Potential For Woodson?

What do you guys think about the possibility of signing CB/S Charles Woodson? Do you think he would be a good fit in NE? I think he'd be a great addition, but it would have to come at the right price. I know some of you are high on the idea of signing Ed Reed, but I know there's almost zero chance of getting both. So, who would you rather grab, Ed Reed or Woodson? If either...

if Welker is not resigned along with Talib both Woodson and Reed could be signed. However if it comes down to just one you have to go with Ed Reed the guy is a leader

I don't see us pursuing Woodson. The Packers let him go, I am assuming for salary reasons, so he probably was not willing to take a pay cut. Although one article stated that it was unclear if they asked or not. Patriots usually pick up these kinds of players for discounts after they leave a losing team.

I would like them to sign Woodson and resign Talib. Having Denard/Talib at CB and McCourtey/Woodson at S would be a nice combo but I don't see it happening.

Rod Woodson got a bunch of years after he switched from CB to S. Maybe if the price is right?
Am I the only one that thinks Lebron is on PED's?

    Jesus Christ...

Woodson is going to be 38 in October. His one point over Reed is that he can play SS.

No way we sign both Reed and Woodson no matter who has or has not signed here.

This forum has two major taints.

#1. Fans who expect to contend for the SB every year (are they in for a surprise soon), and pick at BB, or the DC, or a player.

#2. Fans who react to names w/o understanding what the impact might be here for the Pats and just yell out "Hey! What about this guy?"

In both cases please think first. Thank you.

ESPN reported this and event the reporter said New England was a possibility as well as Denver. I dont think the thread is that silly

I doubt Woodson is signed. I think B.B would go after Reed anyways. he's always had a little safety in his pants for reed.

Ease up. Plenty of places linked him to the Patriots speculatively.

    He is done IMO.

We do need to consider options at our secondary for depth/veteran leadership/talent and if he something left in the tank (maybe at S) he could be looked at by NE.

Reed would be the only player worth while between him, freeney and woodson. All three of them are as old as hell too. If we can get Reed great, but i think expectations for him from the Pats fanbase will be way too high.
