He should be a 17/5/3 starting SF IMO.

im not sure about that. he wasnt a very good starter in OKC and they tried him at both F positions. hes thriving in his role right now and especially since rondo and sully are out of the way. ive been critical of him but hes a good guy and is now in a good situation for him, but lets not get ahead of ourselfs either.

As a starter in OKC at age 22 and 23 he averaged 16.5/6.7/2 & 15/6/2 numbers went down a lil next couple of years but he missed some time and didn't fit in quite as nice at times. I don't see why 17/5 is out of the question at all.

Great read, thanks for sharing. I'm a big fan of Jeff Green, he has just a world of potential and I don't think he's aware of it yet. He's just so passive.

17 / 5 is very reasonable. It might be a little low on points per game. Think of he time missed due to surgery and then consider he PLAYED with a developing heart condition before the surgery.

I often forget he had open heard MAJOR surgery 13 months ago. Its a miracle how well he is playing considering. Still I am not sure how good he will get but I do like the guy and he seems to have a great attitude etc...

His contract looks a lot better now than it did when he first signed. It was a risk with him coming off of major surgery, but for what he is/can be as a player, his contract is more than reasonable IMO.

He needs to improve his ball handling a little bit and develop his "spots" where he knows he can get a good shot off. This confidence will come with playing time and he has all the determination to get better.

17+ PPG is nowhere out of the question for him as a starting SF.

Don't want to start a thread, but what do you guys think of Green's contract now...??? Do you see him as a solid replacement when and if Pierce retires...???

IMO, his contract will be justified, especially since his defense has been very good this season... I've posted earlier that I really think he's gonna get close to 15ppg this season... He started out slow but has crept up close to 11ppg... First 26 games he had 7 15+ point games, last 26 he's had 9 15+ point games...

I've always thought Green would emerge as a viable option to be Pierce's replacement. His doctor's said it would take 2 years to fully recover. By this time next season I think he could be an 17 / 5 / 3 player. When Pierce is finally carted off into the sunset of retirement I think he emerges as a 20 ppg scorer. This kid is really talented and having someone believe in him as the Celtics do is boosting his confidence.

Back in 5/11 I said Green would be an 18/6/3 player. It's taken time, and PP has to take a back seat to make it stick. I got lambasted for that call then too.

In some games, it's not just his passiveness. They don't give him enough touches or get him the ball when they should. 4-6 shot attempts is not enough and he's gotten only that in some games. He should be getting 9-12 every game.
