Kinda funny this is our biggest spring training in a few years with so many unanswered questions, yet it's dead silent in here. I get that a lot of you guys are mad at the FO, but there isn't anything we can do. Just have to say the past is the past and move on.
I'm liking that the FO told Holland it's time for him to grow up a little. Hopefully this will get him to turn into this seasons Matt Harrison. Matt took huge strides forward last season reworking his attitude and how he thought about pitching and being on the bump. Lets just hope it rubs off on Holland.

excited to see what e. beltre, l. martin, profar, garcia, buckel and ross do this spring.
it would be nice to see one of our home grown pitchers turn into an ace, seems like they always turn out to be busts
Eric Nadel, the voice of the Rangers, pointed to 2 guys on the radio the other day that are flying under the radar that he believes will have big parts of the Rangers success this season.
Mitch Moreland- Nadel thinks he can be a 30 HR 90 RBI player if he can stay healthy this season. That would be a HUGE boost to this offense if he is right.
Robbie Ross- Nadel seems to think he might shock a few people and grab the 5th starter job. He was always a starter before, and thinks he has the makeup for it. If not, Ross would still be very valuable in the 8th inning role until Soria got back to handle it.
I'm really excited about this team this season, probably more than last even.
I had mentioned a while back that I thought Ross should be given an opportunity to start, I think he could develop into a nice #3 type for us with his stuff....with Moreland it depends on whether Washington will give him a full time role even against lefties, he never starts against a left handed pitcher which is unfortunate because he is pretty hot when he gets on a role then they play against a lefty and he is on the bench even when hes hot. I think 20 HR and 75 RBIs is more realistic for him to be able to reach, anything more than that is just gravy in my book.
as for this season, im excited to see more young guys get opportunities (unless Wash screws that up too), but as far as the season itself and the results I view us as a 3rd place team in the West right now. I think we will also have to watch out for the M's as well, they have quietly improved and now have more pop in their lineup along with a crazy deep pitching farm system. We had trouble against them last year as they were and they have def improved so I see them still giving us a hard time this year and could possibly make a run at the WC in my opinion.

in the telegram the other day, wash said he'd get his chance to play everyday this year and to show what he could do, even against lefties.
It's always dead silent in here the last 2 months of the offseason.
When it gets about a week before opening day it will heat up.
Announced this morning...
Jurickson Profar will not play in the WBC, says GM Jon Daniels. Adrian Beltre will not play in first round after a minor calf injury. So Profar is out of the WBC, telling the team winning a spot on the Opening Day roster is more important to him. Love that from this kid.Daniels on Beltre: "an abundance of caution; he'd play both ends of a doubleheader for us today"
Beltre with a pretty much non injury, but isn't going to push anything. Said he would consider playing the 2nd round if his country makes it.
The only thing with Ross is, if he moves to the rotation, we only have one lefty in the pen. I am in the same boat thinking Ross has just as good a chance as any to claim the 5th starter spot. I guess we'd just use one of our younger guys in the minors unless there is a free agent we could sign who could give us a few solid innings.

STFU Josh.SURPRISE, Ariz. Former Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton said the Dallas-Fort Worth area is not a true baseball town, in an interview with the DFW CBS television station on Sunday.
"They're supportive," Hamilton said about the fans, "but they also got a little spoiled at the same time pretty quickly."
Hamilton added: "You think about three to four years ago (before two straight World Series appearances in 2010 and 2011). It's like, come on man, are you happier there again?"
I've liked the Rangers since me and my family moved here in 1997 and I stuck through the god awful years of the early and mid 2000's so you can EAD.
That crap pisses me off. What a complete moron. The Rangers essentially hired a babysitter, out of their own pocket, to follow him around and make sure he behaved like an adult (he did not). Then last year he pretty much stopped playing when he hit his first slump and his stats dipped. The Rangers were terrible to end the year, but he was the WORST player on the team at a time when he was needed to step up and be a leader. And instead of saying "hey sorry, my head wasn't in it", he blames the city? Total *******. And to top it off he apparently decided he wasn't going back to the Rangers two weeks before the Angels called. Because the lack of support from the fans made him feel like he wasn't wanted. Well, he sure isn't wanted anymore. Can't wait to boo the retard when the Angels come to town.
Look at my new thread. We will not boo Josh, but rather remain silent. It will creep his *** out
