rotoBrowns signed P Spencer Lanning.
A second-year undrafted free agent, Lanning has never punted in an NFL game. He gives the Browns insurance in case free agent Reggie Hodges isn't re-signed.
props to Bee for the sig!!
And the Mike Lombardi era has begun!!!
LGB you made this confusing since we have a Free Agent Thread, a Transaction thread and an Offseason thread. LOL.@MRidenourABJ: Free agent WR Steve Breaston in Cleveland today for a physical, source confirms.
GET IT NICK!!!
This is the thread of the actual signings and trades that happen. It would be hard to find all that stuff in the other one since that is all speculation and rumors.
props to Bee for the sig!!
Browns receiver Josh Cribbs has admitted to ESPN Radio Cleveland that tampering is indeed happening.
“My agent has been meeting with several different teams,” Cribbs said. “There is a lot of interest. There are already numbers brought to the table. Things are happening. Wheels are turning behind closed doors.”
If this is Josh's way of putting pressure on the Browns, he sure didn't think it through. If a team get's penalized for tampering, he is going to lose a lot of money on his next contract
He said earlier in the week if I can find the link that he would take a paycut to stay with the Browns but the team didn't reciprocate the interest.
http://www.dawgsbynature.com/2013/2/...-to-be-showingCleveland Browns wide receiver and return man Joshua Cribbs joined Baskin & Phelps on 92.3 The Fan this afternoon for about 15 minutes to discuss his interest in returning to the Cleveland Browns, amidst his contract set to expire in March.
Cribbs stated that he would be willing to take a slight pay cut and reach a compromise with the Browns in order to finish his career here, but that he didn't feel the upper management was showing interest in him. That statement could have something to do with his agent, J.R. Rickert, who was scheduled to meet with the Browns at the NFL Combine. Here is some more of the context of Cribbs' comments, transcribed to the best of my abilities:

Salary cap set at $123.9 million, giving the Browns roughly $48 million in space, will be interesting to see who they sign
http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/90...s-1239-million
Quit being so mad bro!
Read in another forum on another site that Cleveland wants to trade the #6 pick to Dallas for Anthony Spencer and the #18th pick? As a Dallas fan that would make me excited, since we have no cap space to make any moves.
Another 8-8 season is looming for us either way, but at least a high draft pick gets me excited before another disappointing year.
Anyone here heard this rumor because there is nothing on google.
Kruger reported to sign w/ Browns; about $8-9 million/year... PFT
Kruger will strike it rich in Cleveland

Apparently we are signing dez Bryant... The arrested Desmond Bryant from OAK
He has officially been signed. I think that Big Phil is on the way out via a trade, unless they use him for a NT and put Rubin and Bryant on the ends like PFT thinks

Pretend I have a cool pic sig
Browns signed DL Desmond Bryant, formerly of the Raiders, to a five-year, $34 million contract.
We love it. The deal includes a whopping $15 million guaranteed. Bryant shows a relentless motor, can both rush the passer and stuff the run, possesses scheme versatility at 6-foot-6, 300 with athleticism, and played his college ball at Harvard. Cleveland's 3-4 front seven is coming together with Bryant and Ahtyba Rubin likely on the ends, Phil Taylor at nose tackle, and Paul Kruger and Jabaal Sheard as rush 'backers. The inside linebackers project to be D'Qwell Jackson and James-Michael Johnson. Looks good to us. - Roto
