What Big Men are available that the Celtics could (realistically) get?

This team has been playing pretty well of late, and it looks like Ainge is going to hold onto this core for another playoff run.

The main thing this team is lacking right now is another big man to put next to KG.

Are there any out there available that the Celtics could realistically get? What would it take?

Doesn't make sense to put Green and Millsap on the same team

To be honest I don't see any. We don't really have a lot of tradable pieces on this team.

The one name that keeps popping up is Marcin Gortat. Gortat has two years left on his current contract and is making $7,258,960 in 2012-13 and is slated to make $7,727,280 in 2013-14.

Pretty tough though right here. We'd have to have a 3rd team, or a combination of Sullinger & Bradley. Just not sure what it will take.

I would like to use Bass & a first rounder as the bait for another big. No way Phoenix takes that though for Gortat (although he's played like garbage for them lately).

Realistically, there is a shot at Gortat. Just not sure how to get there.

The only other big that comes to my mind is Sacramento's Jason Thompson. Again, I look at Bass as the spot we're trying to upgrade, therefore I use Bass and picks as the bait. I believe Thompson is signed for 5 years at 5.2 M , while Bass is 3 years & 6 M.

Thompson is a better fit & probably the better player of the two. Would be a good upgrade for Danny here IMO.

I'd prefer Gortat somehow, but I also want to keep the likes of Sullinger, Lee, & Bradley along with the main core outside of Bass. I think Thompson is the better option if I'm wanting to keep everybody else, just depends on what the Suns want.

With the way the team is clicking, I don't see us moving pieces toward getting a big, unless it's just Brandon Bass and Fab Melo. Everyone else is really playing well, and after such a big win streak, it wouldn't make sense to break the team up. They may also just add players without trading, and pick up people when teams make cuts to make room for newly traded players at the deadline. The waiver wire is another option after that.

I think we don't make a trade unless its lee to Memphis for nothing then we go after players that get bought out

I think that's exactly it. If you can land a nice big using combinations of Bass, Melo, & picks, then Ainge pulls the trigger. If not, he stays put and goes the waiver/cut route. Ainge has setup this roster perfectly & has left room to make moves when & if necessary. He's a damn good GM. Actually, he's one of the best if not the best. Hats off to him.

Not sure Dalembert is as available now as he was before Larry Sanders got hurt...but probably. Sam makes a TON of money though. I would rather have Bass.

I like Thompson also. Very underated and not always used the correct way by Keith Smart(NBA's worst coach)
