Should Lebron be compared to Duncan?

Should Lebron be compared to Duncan more so than kobe when it comes to ring count and legacy?

An argument that is never brought up is Lebron being compared to Duncan and his legacy.

Basically Duncan and Lebron are similar in that Duncan is the leader of his big 3 with TP and Manu, while Lebron is the leader of his big 3 with Wade and Bosh. Yet Duncan won in his first finals appearance with his big 3 (2003) while lebron lost in his first finals with his big 3(2011).

Also as an individual leader(no big 3) Duncan won in his first finals appearance 1999 while lebron lost in his first finals as an individual leader 2007.

If lebron can't surpass Duncan's 3/4 titles as being part of his own big 3 with wade and bosh then doesn't that mean Duncan's big 3 > lebrons big 3? Thus Lebron can't surpass Duncan all time?

Also on paper doesn't it seem that lebrons big 3 > Duncan's big 3 so if the heat can't win more than 3 rings then IMO that hurts Lebrons legacy as he had a stronger big 3.

We can also stop comparing him to other people until his career is done.

I would like to compare him to Robert Horry or Derek Fisher. Those guys were winners.

    Manu is horribly underrated.

I think the general desire to compare players to other players is generally stupid.

I also think the fixation on the teams that surround these players is also generally stupid...mainly because few people seem to understand how to use it in arguments.

I think you maybe have something here, but I think the whole comparing-LeBron-to-others thing is becoming horribly exhausted. LeBron is LeBron...and right now we should just sit back, relax, and ENJOY!

Duncan has won 4 titles as the best player on his team. he's the only post Jordan player who can say that. (even in 07 when TP won finals mvp Duncan was their best player still)

Should we put Duncan over Kobe, since Kobe only won two titles as the main guy?

Yes because LeBron is better. Championships are a TEAM accomplishment Duncan has been on better TEAMS but LeBron when its all said and done will be looked at as the better player

I really don't get why people count the Cavs years as such a bad thing for Lebron. Of course he didn't win, name me a few championship teams with that bad of a supporting cast. Duncan and Kobe have had talent around them throughout their entire careers (minus maybe like 2-3), Lebron is getting that now. Let's just let his career play out and then we can see where he stands.

true, when your 2nd best player is Mo freaking Williams, you shouldn't win a championship

and 2007 finals his 2nd best player was who? Zydrunas Ilgauskas?
