    Official Javon Clowney Sweepstakes Thread

DE Javon Clowney South Carolina appears to be the consensus number 1 pick next year. Tennessee has a 100 to 1 odds of winning the superbowl next year tied with Buffalo and Arizona and ahead of Oakland and Jacksonville and they are at 150 to 1 odds. http://www.gamingtoday.com/articles/...wl_XLVIII_Odds I personally believe that with our oppenents for next year being the typical divisional opponents, AFC West, NFC West, Jets, and Pittsburgh. Tennessee has only won 1 divisional game last year and that was the last one against the Jags and they got lucky beating both NYJ and Pit last year im worried about playing the AFC West this year being that its a fairly week division. Im thinking a 2 win season should get the job done for us next season then Locker would be gone and so would Munchak. I know its early but I would be ecstatic if ended up with Clowney next year. Finally someone to show JJ Watt who is BOSS.

So you are saying they should throw away the season before even drafting this year.... I am thinking no.

Yea as much as I would like Clowney I dont think I could handle being the worst team again next season. The 2013 draft hasnt even started yet and some people are already looking forward to the 2014 one lol.

Yea, I want nothing to do with this. I expect this team to grow a lot next season.

Not a chance the Titans end up with the #1 pick. The have a considerably easier schedule in 2013. They are gonna get better this offseason. If not then I don't know what to say....

Yeah, I'm totally against this. I love Clowney as a prospect, but the Titans are not in a place where the No. 1 pick is even feasible. They're not super talented, but they have enough talent on both sides of the ball to easily win at least 6 games again next season. Why not build on the young pieces in place, draft smart this offseason, make a few significant free agent signings and try to push forward instead of falling backward?

And let's not forget that NO NFL prospect is a guaranteed star. I think everyone is pretty sure on Clowney (myself included), but every prospect is one horrible injury or a few bad decisions away from busting. And college success does not determine professional success. If the Titans were to tank the season, get the first overall pick and take Clowney only for him to bust, they would end up being the laughing stock of the league.
