    Mark Buehrle's Pitbull Saga Continues...

    Or not...

    http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/20...medium=twitter

Back in November we learned of the dog dilemma faced by Mark Buehrle‘s family. They have a pit bull, but Ontario has outlawed pit bull ownership. This meant either getting rid of the dog or Buehrle’s family not joining him in Toronto when the Blue Jays’ season starts.

Jerry Crasnick reports that the family is going to leave Mark on his own:

Mark will spend his 14th big league season in Canada while Jamie lives more than 800 miles away with 5-year-old son Braden, 3-year-old daughter Brooklyn, Slater and the family’s three vizslas, Drake, Diesel and Duke. As the family settles in for spring training in Dunedin, Fla., Buehrle is struggling to accept the idea that togetherness is short-lived and he will be coming home to an empty house in April.

Everyone has to make their own decision, but man. I think I’d find a new home for the dog before I’d willingly spend six months away from my family.
Sucks that he won't be with his family for the season, but why couldn't the wife n' kids simply find a new home in Buffalo, or somewhere not 800 miles away from Toronto...

Its unfortunate that this happened, but Mark decided to go to Miami...and he suffered for his decision.

Funny what someone will do in order to make Millions of dollars....I am not surprised that much at all. It's not like baseball players have too much time at home anyway. However, he is a starting pitcher and a multi-millionaire. Guy could easily go home in between starts for a day or two, (or fly his wife and kids to whatever city he is in).

I don't think he will go 6 months without seeing his family.

Sucks all around. Hopefully it doesn't affect his on-field performance. What a stupid law tho.

Its a stupid law for sure, caused by people, not the breed. A lot of people have to travel for work and miss their families (myself included), and don't make 14 million to do it. Hopefully he can work through it and see the bigger picture.

I don't see how he couldn't just bring the dog to Quebec then just drive him over to Toronto...

Or he could just leave the dog with a friend during the season. There are many options here.

Who wants to live in Quebec?

And the dogs I think are for the kids, and that's why they have to stay together.

This is really dumb why would his family choose to live so far away from him. Theres so many options like living in Buffalo or just getting rid of the dog.

I said take the dog to Quebec then basically smuggle the dog into Toronto. Can't be that hard.
