Gasol, who had an MRI in Boston today after injuring foot in Brooklyn last night, is expected to get a second opinion in the coming days.

One option for Gasol is rehab, with estimated timetable of 6-8 weeks. Surgery would mean 10-12 weeks, with better chance of full recovery.

**** this season!! Injuries and bad coaching really did us bad this year! We need Howard now more then ever!!
Step up Get in the playoffs! And gasol get surgery dude!

    Btw welcome Kenyon Martin!

Love him or hate him, call him overrated, a punk, chump, and whatever blasphemy you people speak, fact of the matter is there is no denying he's the best of his generation and will go down as a top 5 player ever...what he has done for the NBA is amazing he's the biggest name in basketball all around the world and his chase for number 6 continues! All that matters though to us Laker fans is #17! Lakersnation! #16to17

If Howard comes back, I think our starting 5 of Nash, Kobe, Metta, Clark and Howard is fine. But it will hurt our depth. More Sacre is not a good thing. If Howard is back we might be able to find a way. If Howard is out for more games this is horrible.

Look at Houston's schedule, it's brutal. IF dwight comes back soon we should still be able to get at least an 8th seed, as long as we continue to play hard like we have been lately. Just get ready for the playoffs (if we are able to make it) pau. This will be his first time getting "rest" in about 5 years.

Also, Time for Jamison to step it up. He's been solid lately. He needs to keep that up with even more minutes now. This is when we need him. I have faith in him.

Well it would allow howard to be the main post guy and also allow gasol to fully heal. The team is good enough to make the playoffs in the 5-8 slot without gasol. So we would have a better shot at making a run with gasol being 100%.

I think we can still compete for the 5th seed. If we keep playing this style of play, there is little most teams can do to beat us.

^ exactly what I was thinking plus getting Pau back right before the playoffs might be the boost this team needs to take it all the way. Hopefully Pau heals completely and embraces coming off the bench when he returns.

But we have to unite w/ Howard & Kobe.

****......this sucks. We wouldn't have won anything with him in the lineup anyway, but this is just going to make it more difficult to make the playoffs. Hopefully he can come back before then if we do end up making it...

****. Did the say what the injury was? Last night after the injury, I predicted torn plantar fascia, minimum 4 weeks.
