Rank Your Sixers (not including Bynum)

Please rank our dear Sixers players from 1st-10th in terms of both "who the best players are" and "importance to the team." Do not include Bynum on the list.

There is a lot of bickering lately in terms of how good Nick Young is, how important Thad is to the team, whether or not Dorell Wright should get more time, if Moultrie deserves to be in the NBA, etc... The goal is to get everyone's thoughts out in the open on how we feel about each player to set the record straight.

I'll start. My personal list is based on more recent play, where as ugly as it's been, we actually have been playing noticeably better as a team:

    1) Jrue Holiday
    2) Thaddeus Young
    3/4) Nick Young
    3/4) Evan Turner
    5) Spencer Hawes
    6) Lavoy Allen
    7/8) Roy Ivey
    7/8) Damien Wilkins
    9) Dorell Wright
    10) Arnett Moultire

    Omissions:

    - Jason Richardson: I'm sorry, but he's a bum. At least right now, he's reached hobo bum status.
    - Kwame Brown: Does very few things ok, but not good at anything. Lacks simple ability to catch a pass, convert a put-back, etc. I think I've seen him make one jump shot this season. Would rather have Moultrie on the floor from now on.
    - Shelvin Mack: Why are you even on this team? Go back to the D-League.

    No can do.

Thad has been more consistent than Jrue...in an area where we desperately need someone to be.

And Turner is lucky to be where I got him. He's made no impact, whatsoever, on the teams record and was largely irrelevant in all but 9-11 games. At this moment it's gotta be Swaggster.

I struggled with the criteria a bit, and my interpretation of them, but I didn't want to spend too much time on it so I'm I just going with my instincts. I guess I ended up tending towards how good someone is playing now, rather than in the past (otherwise Ivey would be lower), and how they actually play rather than how they should be able to play (eg Dorell over Evan). I didn't factor importance to the team that heavily (although I did try to factor it in, eg Nick over Ivey - but not enough to drop Dorell) because I don't know how to, really, and I don't want my ranking to just be a reflection of Doug's ranking that I don't agree with.

    Jrue
    Thad
    Dorell
    Evan
    Spencer
    Nick
    Ivey
    Lavoy
    JRich
    Moultrie

Even if thad has been more consistent, that doesnt make him "better"

Holiday is very clearly a better basketbal player than thad

When I read "importance to the team" I take a lot of things into consideration including the players contract and his potential trade value...So balancing that with who is playing best on the court I came up with this list:

    Jrue
    Thad
    ET
    Spencer
    Nick Young
    Lavoy
    Wright
    Moultrie
    Ivey
    JRich

While Nick Young has played well lately, he doesn't have nearly the trade value that ET has around the league. I also think the odds of Nick Young returning to the Sixers next year are 50/50 at best. And in the long run whether he becomes a better player or is traded as part of a package for a better player, I just think ET will have more impact on the future of the Sixers. While I've never been a fan of Thad's contract, it's hard to overlook what he has done on the court, so he edges out ET on the list because of that. Of course, this could all change when Bynum plays.

Evan in third? Hoofa. pretty sure you'll be the only 1 to have him in that position. we wouldn't even miss him if he weren't here
    ... sorry to say

I think you made a typo. Dorell in third? That's about 6 positions too high.
