    Pryor in the pistol offense?

Man after watching kaepernick tear up the league this year I can't help but to think about how Pryor would do in that offense, I know this is a random thought and thread, but have any of you guys had the same idea? The guy is more effective in the red zone than palmer and is making pennies compared to him. Pryor, Reece and DMC in the back field of the pistol offense would be damn near impossible to stop IMO.

More effective in the red zone?

We know that already after 1 game?

No WaY!!!!!!!!!!! That would make our coaches think outside the box. It would make too much sense to have the ball in your best athletes hands on every play. Besides that, it would make DMC have to run down hill in that offense... Running east and west seems better.

Man, what were you thinking.. A ball control offense that gives the offense options with their best athletes in the best situation..... Come on man.

The pistol offense will not work in the NFL for an extended period of time. But, I do think that having Pryor, Reece, and McFadden in the backfield at the same time would be fun to watch.

I think its pretty safe to assume he is imo. His ability to extend plays with his legs and his illusivness is pretty amazing. I believe he runs a 4.3 or 4.4 at 6'5. From what ive heard, he just like Kaep but a little bit faster & just needs to work on his throwing motion and foot work so that he can put a little more zip and accuracy on his throws...which are some of the very same things RG3 & Kaep are still working on as well...

    NO

Plus he cannot throw nearly as well as Kap...

Keep him in the pocket, do not call designed run plays for him please

The Ravens stuffed the option each time I saw the niners run it. Atlanta struggled with it, but not the Ravens. Kap had to hand it to Gore each time because Suggs or the other OLB was in his face every time. Kap took a few good shots too! When Gore got the hand off he may of got 3 yards tops each time. I don't recall him breaking any runs that came from the option play. Gore did get a couple of good runs, but it didn't initiate from the option.

Pryor still needs to work on his throwing mechanics. While he looked decent in his first start, most of his throws were floaters. I thought he looked confident and in control of the offense which was good, but his accuracy and mechanics still need work. I'm hopeful he will continue to improve.

Kaepernick has a cannon, whereas Pryor is more like a BB gun.

I agree, this is one of those "fad" offenses that will fade out by the middle of next season. NFL defenses are to complex to allow this kind of thing for too long. The option doesnt work well at this level of the game. How are the "run and shoot" "red gun" and "wildcat" doing these days? Waiting for a double QB or 4 - RB set to come around, that is gonna get tricky.

I dont think the pistol offense will fade out, its just gonna be used as an option for the new hybrid QB's...

The pistol offense will disappear , if these running QBs start tearing ACLs and MCLs. What's wrong with RG111??

That's not good.It is exciting football to watch though.I think good ole Johnny Football is going to get his head handed to him ,if he trys to run like that on Sundays.

    We'll see though.

First off, Pryor and Kaepernick shouldn't been allowed in the same sentence.....I get a pass because I wrote it. Kaep has the far superior arm, plus he's way more accurate.

I like TP's agility and how he can extend a play, but when it comes to those plays he has to use his arm to execute a play, we're in trouble.

^^^^^ THIS!!! ^^^^^ Whenever teams have to keep paying their QB while he's on IR by doing what RGIII did, you better bet they'll want their coaches to go the more traditional route of play calling.
