Per A's Twitter feed:
A's acquire Jed Lowrie and Frenando Rodriguez from Astros for Chris Carter, Brad Peacock and Max Stassi.
Ugh. What a terrible trade.

dont care much about Stassi and Peacock, but really tough seeing Carter go. I've been a huge fan of his since day 1. Like i wrote in the general forum, I can se Nakajima moving to 2B and having Sizemore/Weeks fighting for the utility spot, but we will have to wait on that

And I guess this means we're going all in with Moss. I would've preferred to make sure he wasn't a fluke.
also note that this takes away from the 6 players for 5 spots controversy. Now itll be moss at first, with the 4 outfielders rotating with the DH

What makes me sick is thinking that we may see Barton again.
Not a huge fan of Buster Olney, but he just called the A's the team with the most depth in the entire american league
Unleash the Mamba!
I really just do not see much weakness with our big league 25 right now. I mean MAYBE a monster third baseman like David Wright would be nice to have
Unleash the Mamba!
It may have lifted the 1B OF DH logjam, but now we have an infield logjam.
Aside from Moss, the entire infield consists of a bunch of second baseman. We have a lot of depth, but depth of what?
Well generally I think it's a good idea to have a lot of options to see what sticks. Out of the list of Donaldson, Hiro, Lowrie, Weeks, Sizemore, and Green, the probability that you find decent producers out of that lot is rather high. And since Lowrie is a known quantity, then it's really 5 players competing for 2 spots. I'm pretty confident that 2 of those 5 will produce. It's the same thing we did with 1B last year, we threw a bunch at the wall(Kila, Barton, Allen, Moss, Carter), Moss and Carter stuck.

Wow I am not sure if I like this. Stassi I doubt will amount to much in the majors, Peacock could be a good pitcher but we had so much starting pitcher depth he wasnt gonna play this season at all. Chris Carter though I am a bit unsure why we had to trade him, he was very productive platooning with Moss. Now we will have a question mark at First Base and what this trade means.
