    Jed Lowrie to A's

Sources tell me and @jonmorosi that #Athletics will announce shortly the acquisition of SS Jed Lowrie from #Astros in a five-player trade.

Somebody told the Astros GM they're in the AL West this season, right?

Good move for the A's. I've always been a fan of Jed Lowrie, and he's very consistent at getting on base. The Astros are just getting worse and worse. I feel sorry for their fans. Even as a Cubs fan, I wish they had the amount of success that we do lol.

I like Chris Carter. We do upgrade the SS position, but what happens to our Asian now?

Good move for both teams. Lowrie isn't going to do the Astros any good seeing as he'll be 29 at the start of the season, and they pick up some decent young pieces for him.

I really liked Chris Carter. A bunch of power potential of 30-40 homers! I think he had 17 last season in a platoon and came up in like June!

The astros are going to get absolutely killed. Not that Lowrie would have done much but hes their most seasoned decent player.

I feel like they could have sold way higher on him at the trade deadline
