    Top 10 MLB franchises?

Who are your top 10 MLB franchises of all time and why?

It could be by the #of championships
Overall stability and team success throughout the years? Aka winning pct.%
    Fan bases
    Pennants
    Division titles
    #of hall of hame players...
    Use you own criterias...

Love him or hate him, call him overrated, a punk, chump, and whatever blasphemy you people speak, fact of the matter is there is no denying he's the best of his generation and will go down as a top 5 player ever...what he has done for the NBA is amazing he's the biggest name in basketball all around the world and his chase for number 6 continues! All that matters though to us Laker fans is #17! Lakersnation! #16to17

its interesting looking at some of the categories(all in order):

in terms of championships: yanks, cards,a's,giants, red sox, dodgers, reds, pirates, tigers, braves

    hofers: giants,dodgers,braves,yanks,cards,cubs,pirates,a's ,red sox,reds

    pennants: yankees,giants,dodgers,cards,braves,cubs,a's,red sox,tigers,reds

    win%: yanks,giants,dodgers,cards,red sox,cubs,indians,reds,tigers,white sox

    so be something like...
    yankees
    cards
    giants
    dodgers
    a's
    red sox
    braves
    reds
    tigers
for 10 you could go any of cubs/indians/pirates(its weird seeing them as they been so bad for the past 20 years that you forget they were usually really good for the the first 100 or so years of the franchise)

I would list the top 5 as

    Yankees (easily number one)
    Cardinals (clearly number 2)
Dodgers - Giants (these two both make a argument for number 3)
    A's

cubs definatley deserve to be on this list. 100+ years of no world series and still consistantly in the top attendance.
