    Aldo vs Pettis?

UFC lightweight Anthony Pettis is next in line for a shot at the 155-pound title. It appears he may opt for a shot at the 145-pound belt instead. "Something interesting happened about 10 minutes ago," White said at the postfight news conference. "Anthony Pettis said, 'I want to go to 145 and fight Jose Aldo.' He told me he'll make 145." "It's up to Dana, but it's an interesting fight," Aldo said. "I train to fight the best. I respect them all. I think Pettis is close to a title shot in his own division."
This would be interesting. I feel Aldo would be the harder matchup, and he already has a win over Henderson

Benson is much better than he was in there first fight and I think style wise Aldo might be a closer fight for Pettis. Pettis has some fantastic standup but I also see if Pettis gives Aldo a good fight and he losses, it wont hurt his "position" ranking wise at 155, its a win-win for him IMO.

Pettis is being dumb. Just go for the title at 155. If you lose, then you still have the opportunity to get the 145 title. If you lose to Aldo, then you can't do anything after that.

Why not we are seeing right now that you can pretty much fight for the title and then go to another division and get an immediate title shot if you lose.

Not only that but Aldo is argueably a much tougher matchup. In my mind Pettis would beat Henderson in a rematch but probably not Aldo, I really don't get this for Pettis at all.

I can only come up with two reasons.
    1) He's scared that Henderson is getting better and will want that rematch
    2) He wants to fight the better fighter?

He doesn't want to wait is what it comes down to. Henderson doesn't fight til April and he could potentially fight Aldo by may or June. Waiting is the worst thing a fighter can do. Ring rust is real

After Pettis beat Cerrone, I talked about this very same fight. It would be amazing to watch two of the best fighters in their prime go at it.

In a perfect world, I'd rather see Pettis fight Bendo, win the belt and fight Aldo in a super fight between 2 champs.

Maybe the fight should take place at 155 with the winner fighting Benson?

I think if Aldo moves up, he will ask for an immediate title shot, especially if he's still the champ.

The UFC should have waited until the Pettis fight to name Bendo's opponent. With the way Pettis won (on Fox nonetheless) and the way Bendo beat Diaz, you could have had a title fight with a lot buzz. Then you have the rivalry between Pettis and Bendo and it really was a no brainer.

I think Henderson is the tougher matchup. And he has to wait for it. Both in his fight with Bendo and Guida, Pettis has shown he can be taken down. He might be better off trying to out strike Aldo.

Bendo was a whopping 3/13 in TD attempts.

In the Guida fight, Pettis outworked Guida from the bottom.

In a rematch with either, Pettis wins.

Honestly I could not tell who would win any of these 3 potential fights. I think all 3 fighters are potentially capable of winning on paper. I think it would be fun to see Aldo fight Nate Diaz if Pettis fights Henderson.
