Yes moves like this are much better than giving Francisco 12 million over 2 years and the wookie 4.5 million or trading a guy like Pagan for Ramirez.

Pens are hard to predict and build, but if your going to give good money to a pen arm, it has to be a guy who really has a good track record. If that guy falters, then just check it to bad luck.

It's difficult to just to keep eating guaranteed money, the Mets have done a lot of that the last 3 years with Bay, Castillo, and Ollie.

I would not get rid of Hefner. He is very solid ML pitching depth. I would take McHugh or Elvin Ramirez off the 40 man before him.

No owner in baseball would do that.
