You can still hold people accountable.

Yes moves like this are much better than giving Francisco 12 million over 2 years and the wookie 4.5 million or trading a guy like Pagan for Ramirez.

Pens are hard to predict and build, but if your going to give good money to a pen arm, it has to be a guy who really has a good track record. If that guy falters, then just check it to bad luck.

Oh yeah? Last I checked Francisco is still a Met this season. Based on his performance last year, he shouldn't be here anymore.

    This...

It's difficult to just to keep eating guaranteed money, the Mets have done a lot of that the last 3 years with Bay, Castillo, and Ollie.

I would not get rid of Hefner. He is very solid ML pitching depth. I would take McHugh or Elvin Ramirez off the 40 man before him.

I agree...that's what I was saying about holding peeps accountable. Coupons have made the mistake of holding onto players too long that hurt them ON the field and financially.

    It's self-defeating.

Wake-up dude, every team does this. At least they ate Bay's contract, Perez's contract and Castillo's contract.

They ate close to 40 million dollars on those 3 deals. They weren't going to release them even earlier and eat another year of every one of those contracts.

No owner in baseball would do that.

But yeah blame that on the Wilpons and Sandy Alderson too.

    I will do.

Self-defeating deals are self-defeating deals, if people are too dumb to see that, I can't help.

No owner is eating 80 million dollars of Ollies, Bays, and Castillo's contracts.

That's what it would have cost the Mets if they had released them 2 years earlier into the end of their deals instead of one year.
