Be excited Knick fans, our big three is going to be awesome

The tandem of Amare, Chandler and Melo has been unconscious lately. It's working perfectly. The spacing hasn't been an issue and Amare is to thank. His deep low post game has opened up everything. Honestly, I'm amazed at how much Hakeem's work with him has affected his game.

Once Melo decides he wants to get out of this funk that's dropped his FG% from the high 47's to mid 44's, this tandem has the *POTENTIAL* to be almost as good as Miami's, with a much better supporting cast.

Melo plays the alpha male, Amare plays second fiddle with the low post & pick & roll while Chandler beasts on the boards and is lethal with Felton in the pick & roll too.

If it's any indication, Chandler better work with Hakeem this summer as well.

We have a legit big three, two thirds that made the All-Star game and likely all three if Stoudemire could be healthy all year.

However, it would be nice if Woodson got his head out of his *** and started STAT. He's getting like 22 minutes a game, scoring 14 a game on 59% shooting while he should be playing 32-34 giving us 20 and 8 or 9.

I actually trust Woody to play Amare a range of minutes that will keep him on the court for the remainder of his contract. He's playing on multiple time surgically repaired knees that PHX thought would already have shut down on him. I like his niche right now.

It's getting close to an all Amare thread but to reply to this one,

While Amare sure recently looks great in the post, and Chandler has beasted the last few games after his coach called him out publicly, Melo's game from an eff standpoint has declined.

Like I said in the other thread, in recent games we got trounced by philly, lost to the nets, beat Atlanta only because of the stupidity of Atlanta's Smith, and beat weak teams, and even with that started out each game louzy.

I'm not ready to crown us the big anything yet but happy we are at least taking care of what we should. The Philly game is a lost memory to most but I guess being in a tight game with the Bucks, beating the mighty Orlando and Sac will make that happen?????????

We have a very easy stretch ahead of us, one game at a time and lets take care of business and we could go into the allstar game the best team in the EAST.

Thats a great statement in itself.

Yea it looks like Amare will play that Manu role where he plays 25-28mpg.

if he can give us 15 & 7 on 60% in that limited time that would be amazing.

playoff time though I think you'll see him over 30mpg.

I wouldn't worry about Melo's shooting. The man had a 40 pt game with a gamewinner like 2 games ago.

Yesterday we got off to a terrible start and Amar'e came in and turned it around. He seems to flourish with the first unit, and he's to big a weapon to bring off the bench. I feel he will be in the starting lineup soon enough.

    Felton/Shumpert/Melo/Amar'e/Chandler

That will be the starting lineup in the future, these 5 plus Kidd, Camby, and Novak are the only ones under contract next year. And who knows whether one or both of Kidd, Camby will retire after this season. I know Amar'e off the bench gives us the best bench in the league (82 freakin' points) but our starting lineup really hasn't looked too good. Even without Amar'e we might have the most dangerous bench in the league when healthy and even at the moment.

Pablo, Kidd, JR, Novak, Brewer (was our starter during our best stretch of the season), Kurt (also started and has always been solid), and Sheed and Camby when they get back. Copeland has shined too but Woody seems to be very hard on him as he's benched him after "Not practicing well" when he had been starting and shooting lights out. Even James White can contribute. Most importantly, if the Heat lose tonight we are in first in the East and Woodson coaches the all star game. GO RAPTORS.

^^^The big thing that Amare brings off the bench; is a healthier Amare for the playoffs, where he will be forced to play 35+ minutes/game. I like Woody's thinking right now.

I know Amar'e off the bench gives us the best bench in the league (82 freakin' points) but our starting lineup really hasn't looked too good.
Our starting lineup will be fine, with Melo in it. Guy leads the league in points in the first quarter. As Felton and Shump get stronger better acclimated, it will be very effective.

We'll see more of Amare coming in with JR, in stead of after him, and those 2 will change the dynamic of the game with any team in the league.

We also have the easiest stretch of our season to tune up the starting unit. I think we may be the hottest team heading into all star weekend.

Thanx to Yash for the ill sig

    Buy low.. Sell High...

I don't trust Amare's knees and Melo hasn't looked good/comfortable playing for awhile. You have to think not only short term but long term as well. I'd be looking to unload Amare for a better fitting player. Love the guy but it's about business at the end of the day.

You know something.......? I honestly dont think it would bother mello if he only scored 18 a game and the outcome was the same as last night...three years ago yes..
.but now its really about just winning for mello..and he's probally really really happy stat is back...if we keep playin like this and we only have camby and sheed for like another 20 games it won't bother me at all it'll just be a pluss..wed probally go 15 and 5 during that stretch .... things are definitely looking up.

Amare should not start. He's scoring very effectively against other teams' benches. He is a better go to option than Jr Smith for the second unit and plays really well with Prigioni. Just wait till you see him with Camby or Sheed.
