The Celtics may end up with the 1st pick of the 2007 draft after all; meet with Oden

    A. Sherrod Blakely ‏@SherrodbCSN
#Celticstalk: The rumor is true. The #Celtics did meet with Greg Oden today in Waltham. More to come on #CSNNE.com
Wouldn't mind if he did sign with the Celtics.

Would likely be a post trade deadline signing, IF it happens.
    Lee / Terry
    Bradley /Crawford / Williams
    Pierce / Green
    Bass / Wilcox / White
    KG / Randolph / Melo

    Injured: Rondo, Sullinger

    Draft wish list: Gorgui Dieng

    Sure, sign him up.

    Well worth the risk.

Draft my dude Jeff Withey while we're at it.

Swing for the fences. Worst case, he gets injured and our title chances stay at 0%

One can only hope that since he keeps persisting with teams and feels he can comeback, that playing on those knees is a future possibility. I would hate to see him come back, then go out again with injury again, because I wouldn't want to think that he's only doing it for the cash. However, another injury after getting a contract would only leave me with that conclusion.

Hey, if he can give us more than Scot Pollard's 1.8 PPG and 1.7 RPG during our title run in '08, it will be a bonus. Maybe he can go on the Celtics show and do Planet Oden skits, like Pollard did.

As a Ohio State fan it sucks to see Oden bust this bad but at the same time I'm glad he came out and at least got paid instead of staying in college and getting hurt and not making any money.

props to Bee for the sig!!

Can't hurt to pick the guy up. Imagine it would be a low cost deal, so if it doesn't work (which they know there is a chance at that), then move on. Not like there are a ton of guys with his talent available. if it does work out, then the Celtics have a stud in the middle they very much need.

I would love for the Celtics to sign Greg Oden! He'd be loved here in Boston and I think he be a great fit. Oden is still very young. Low risk/high reward.

Yeah worth a look low risk/ high reward. Be great to have both Fab/ Oden play some summer league/ D- League also.
