Ainge may need to stop taking risks with injury prone guys. We've had way too may lately. Shaq, Wilcox, Sully, D. West, JO. Enough is enough.

How are we going to trade for a big now?

We still have trade assets (Terry, Lee, Bass) and there will also be bigs coming available after the trade deadline and teams clean up their rosters.

At least now the best asset we could potentially give up would be Melo/Bradley.

Totally my thinking but, perhaps DA knew that Sully would need surgery either in the off-season or at some point in his early career after drafting him and decided to force Sully to have the surgery now to eliminate his name from trade converstions leading up to the deadline? This would be the type of decision that would be made behind closed doors that likely the media/public would never know about that could potentially help us to continue to try to contend for this year without hurting our rebuilding assets for the future?
How is this good news, yall delusional fans are too attached to these players, Sully is good hes not that great and now hes already having back problems, it took KG and Ray Allen for us to ever win a ship and compete year in year out, yet yall dont want to part with Avery or Sully when neither will ever be near the level KG and Ray were, but if it took Sully or Avery to be part of a deal to bring in a guy that is that level yall wouldnt make the deal? let me guess yall were mad when we traded Al Jefferson and Gerald Green away for KG, there were those types back then and i'm sure some of yall were angry at that trade, this team is going no where fast, there is no bright future with this team at the moment, there no where near good enough to compete for a ship and but there not bad enough to get a lottery pick to build around, and they put the team on Rondos back and he shouldnt be that guy, your in good shape when Rondo is your 3rd best player, i'm not taking nothing away from him but was it not KG who put the team on his back last year sometime around the time he moved to center? Thats who our best player is not Rondo, none of the top free agents are going to come here and DA already ****ed up with Green/Terry and even Pierce is overpaid right now, DA ****ed up in a lot of different ways, nothing is going as planned and we're not set up to make a splash right now through trade or draft, lets make the playoffs this year and enjoy it because its going to be a long time coming before we see it again, and if DA was serious about trading old vets if he had the chance then its probably in his best interest to do it this deadline and let the rebuild process start

if we're lucky maybe somebody would be willing to trade for Rondo on draft day, Rondo for Grevis Vasquez/Robin Lopez and there lottery pick would be ideal, but of course yall would cry over a deal like that, and i'll take back Perk and that lottery pick for KG, possibly get one of those young players (Lamb/PJ3/Maynor) and they can have whatever the **** else, now we will have some nice picks this year, and we will probably be bad enough to get another lottery pick next year when the draft will be loaded

Um, pretty most of Sullinger's baskets came off of put backs. FWIW, Sullinger was leading the team in +/- this season.

I hope Joseph is laughing in some hotel in Europe right now... There was no reason to waive him... At this point in the season a 2nd unit of Green at the 4 and Joseph at the 3 would have been nice to watch... Someone dropped the ball with that waivey move...

I will attest that you've posted his soon to happen back issue's... I'm playing 2-1-13 tonight...

IMO he wants no part of this team... If he were smart he'd take any calls with Oklahoma area codes...

For the present yes, but for the future it may be an entertaining season... Too bad they'll be good enough to just be out of the lottery... Would have been nice to watch Rondo flipping the lottery card...

#Celtics coach Doc Rivers said Jared Sullinger, family talked about this surgery a couple years ago, that C's knew it was coming eventually.

My comment was in reference to Wilcox.

Once they fix his back for good he'll be out next year with a heart condition...jkjkjk. I hope it is a permanent fix because we are a better team with him in the rotation.

There wasn't much of a risk picking at 21. Jared seems like a cool guy and I'm sure he'll be ready to go next year

I believe the C's when they say this surgery will help to prolong his career and it's a sure bet that his IQ will still be high when he returns...
