Great thing is that it works with or without Fields as well, nudge nudge.

Naw were taking in 5M this year and next and were already taking in like 14M from Gay's salary. That's not in the cards anymore

Sure, but I think you'd have a hard time selling the lakers on that long term money. I'd for sure do it... Then amnesty Kleiza and the house cleaning is complete.

I would disagree. It doesn't take us into the lux does it?

The trade will work but we will be paying 2 million in tax which I highly doubt happens. We would also be screwed for next season with the cap.

Bargs and who for Pau Gasol? That would be okay if we don't give up jonas.

The only option is Bargnani + a wing player for a big man. The problem with that is there are not many options out there, and why would a team trade away their big man for another one, who has just come off an injury, and we don't want for obvious reasons?

Guys like Milsap don't make much sense for the Raptors. We trade for him for 40 games and he walks and we have a giant hole. I'm pretty sure there is no way we can re-sign with our cap situation. That also rules out players like Josh Smith.

Please, do not get your expectations too high guys.
    Bargnani/Fields/Gray for Gasol

Salaaies match. We are crowded on the wing, so we unload Fields. Fields may do well in Mike D's system as he did in NY. Bargs gives the Lakers a stretch 4 that complements Dwight.

I think Gasol can play better if utilized better, remember he was doing pretty good during the summer. Although his knees are a cause for concern.

There's no way the Lakers would ever take a downgrade in a trade.

Gasol is washed up and depressed, going from a championship(current contender) to our team will only make it worse. His best days are behind him while Bargnani will always be the softest big man in the league. Colangelo will not trade Bargnani right now because there is no equivalent talent at the power forward position right now and now that Ed davis is gone, we would need a PF in return. Our team is solid right now, but nothing special. They should tank next year and get Andrew Wiggins or else we will just be in the middle of the pack for all time. Omniscient

    so who plays pf?

cause to utilize gasol to his strenghts he would need to be the CEnTER.

and the first option, do you see lowry, derozan and specially gay being cool with that?

    i dont think so.
