ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - The St. Louis Cardinals announced Wednesday financing for construction of the first phase of Ballpark Village has been closed.
Preliminary site work started Wednesday, and a formal groundbreaking ceremony will be held Friday, February 8.
The first phase of Ballpark Village is slated to be complete by Opening Day 2014 and will cost $100 million. The project will include 100,000 square feet of retail and entertainment space on Clark Street next to Busch Stadium. Streets, parking, and site infrastructure are also included in the first phase.
Other structures that will be built in the first phase include Cardinals Nation, Budweiser Brew House, and Live! at Ballpark Village.
