I love the trade and now we have money to spend... But who do we spend it on? To me there is no notable names in this free agency class that we would sign.

What if Daye starts lighting it up in Memphis?

It's only a matter of time before he becomes the next Durant

I think it would be cool if Dumars did something like Cuban and signed some 1 year deals to meet the cap floor, and save the space for the next offseason. With our luck we wouldn't get anyone to sign anyway

Why not get a leg up on Josh Smith and get him now. Just got a trade that might work.

DET gets: Josh Smith, Devin Harris, Mike Scott

ATL gets: Rodney Stuckey, Jason Maxiell, Jonas Jerebko, and Brandon Knight

Getting Calderon obviously means we are getting a little sick of Knight and want someone new to play the point. I can't wait to see him play for us. Also now we are forced to play Singler at the 3 and Stuckey at the two which in my opinion will not work out well. Singler fits well at the 2 and I want to keep it that way. A trade for Smith now gives us a great young option at the three and gives us the ability to lock him up now instead of in FA. On top of that we deal Maxiell whos stock is the highest now, we deal Jerebko who doesn't want to be here, and we remove Knight to clear the future for Calderon. Plus dealing Maxiell will force Frank to plug Drummond into the starting lineup. I would love a lineup like this:

    PG Jose Calderon
    SG Kyle Singler
    SF Josh Smith
    PF Greg Monroe
    C Andre Drummond

    Bench
    6 Will Bynum
    7 Devin Harris
    8 Charlie Villinueva
    9 Corey Maggette
    10 Kim English
    11 Viacheslav Kravtsov
    12 Khris Middleton

I really like that lineup. Anyone agree this might work. And below is the link showing the trade works.

    No Josh Smith.

We need to trade a package involving Knight to a team that has a few SF hanging around.

    Maybe we'll re-sign him,

It's not so important to make another trade right now, though we do have possibilities.

The biggest thing this trade does is open up cap space in summer. It means we can ABSORB a contract. We don't HAVE to make a trade or go get a FA. A team can simply call us, ask if we want Player X and we can decide if we want him or not.

Plus, I'd like to see Calderon and BK in the backcourt. WTF, just try it and see what happens.

Thanks Tay for the memories . . . and THE BLOCK !!

i dont see why ppl want josh smith i think he is going to be over paid trash as soon as he hits 30 which is when our young guys will hit their prime, hes an inconsistent shooter and he might have good defensive stats but hes no defensive superstar we need guys on the wing who can play man D/shoot the ball consistently, josh smith will make this a bad offensive squad
    POP! POP!
