On MSNBC today, U.S. senator Lamar Alexander (a Tennessee Republican) set a new benchmark for insanity by claiming that games are worse than guns."I think video games is a bigger problem than guns, because video games affect people," he told host Chuck Todd.Once again, this is an actual U.S. senator. An actual senator from the United States. That was elected to an office. This is a great example of Gov. Bobby Jindal's (R-LA) target with this comment:

"We must stop being the stupid party. It’s time for a new Republican party that talks like adults. It’s time for us to articulate our plans and visions for America in real terms. We had a number of Republicans damage the brand this year with offensive and bizarre comments. We’ve had enough of that.”

Apparently not all of them actually have had enough of that. Video games never killed anyone, and they never will.
