the superbowl MVP is the MVP of one game. so if you are saying someone is elite because they have 2 superbowl MVPs, you are basing it off two games. eli for example, has had 2 great post season runs. but is very inconsistant in the other years, which is the reason he is not elite. either way though, using superbowl MVPs to determine elite is stupid because of two things. 1) i measures one game since its not a playoff MVP, 2) they usually give it to the winning qb deserving or not


im not argueing eli's eliteness there, im merely saying that the arguement of player X havigna superbowl or a superbowl MVP makes them elite is beyond stupid. is colin kapernick elite if the 49ers win this weekend?

Even as a die hard giants fan, I can't sit here an honestly say Eli is elite. Those two super bowl runs, were the highlight of his best play at qb. I have seen him miss way to many open wr's in the regular season to label him elite. He has played the game as well as the elites at times, but is not consistent enough through the long haul. Eli is a very very tough and cerebral qb that just doesn't have the physical tools to match up with the with the elites. I'm still very happy he is qb of the my team but please don't get carried away.

and in his bad playoff loses, up and down regular seaosn play and a histroy fo collapsing down the strech in decemeber and his entire body of work points to him not being elite

I don't overrate shiat. I never rated him anywhere. The fickle have a bandwagon and lost their lunch when their main source of football info (ESPN ) had Michael Kay asked Eli if he was in the same league as Brady. Eli responded and the fickle broke out the fantasy stats to ridicule him. Eli then went on to win the Superbowl MVP which shoved it right in the fickle's face. It's the truth. Good for Eli

Look at how matt cassel went in and led the patriots to an 11-5 record when brady got injured.

Matt flynn had tons of hype cause he looked good when he got play time in GB and now he got benched for russel wilson in Seattle.

I do think Rodgers/Brady could be considered elite based on SB wins but my point is some teams make QB's look better then they really are.

That patriots team had a ton of talent. They went 11-5 after a season they almost went perfect. And with rodgers most of his talent has been drafted since he became the starter. He started with Jennings and an aging Driver. Cobb an Nelson came either his firat year starting or after. Finley, who is overrated, was in his 2nd year. None of his weapons are first rounders. He hasnt had a solid rb either. Oh, and if you watch him, brady etc you can tell by watching that theyre the best of the best. Fkynn had two great games against two terrible defenses, besides two games proves nothing. Also if all they need are a great wr to be great, why are Cutler and Freeman still stinking It up after each one were given a great wr and both have good running games?

Wow 8 games out of a guys career whos started 148 total. 5 he played great in, 2 he was ok in and the other was pretty bad. How about the other 3 playoff games he stunk it up in? Including 08, the year after his sb mvp. Your only argument is "you playz fatasy football, he won ringz omgdzz."

This is where fans don't understand the game. Rather than have a shootout like week 17, both teams kept it close to the vest. The Giants defense allowed Brady to walk right down the field when he needed it most. Eli returned the favor when the Giants needed it most. Both defenses were even and both defenses failed during the last 4 min of the game. It was the QB's who were at center stage the last two drives with the winner taking it all.

Yea it was all the qbs. The wrs didnt catch the ball, the olines didnt block etc. And of course theybwerent in those positions because of the rest of the game. We know it definitely wasnt because the giants d-line got to Brady 5 times and caused 3 fumbles(with one recovered). None of that mattered leading up to it.

You accuse everyone of not watching, when it seems you're the one who doesnt watch. Because if you watched eli you would see a qb whos inconsistent, a strong arm but with accuracy issues and makes bad decisions. We always here how great he is at reading defenses, sorry a qb great at reading a defense doesnt have an int% of 3.2. And I guess eli is consitent in one aspect, consistently average at taking care of the ball.
