or maybe, just maybe, the lazy overweight russell ahd the talent but not the motivation............

However this report his old news from about 2 years ago when the Jets had discussion about Russell

Why is there even a debate on Russell's talent? Place Russell in any of the drafts in the last 5 years, and he'd probably go #1 in every single on of them minus last years. Probably was a better QB prospect coming out of the draft than Newton, Ryan, and Griffin. He was just a cocky, lazy, douchebag.

"I can't remember being in such awe of a quarterback in my decade of attending combines and pro days. Russell's passing session was the most impressive of all the pro days I've been to. His footwork for such a big quarterback was surprising. He was nimble in his dropbacks, rolling out and throwing on the run. The ball just explodes out of his hands."

there is the risk. not his talent or skill, his motivation. if motivated he's a great pick up for the jets, i just have my doubt sif he really is motivated

Do the pre-draft prognosticators sometimes get it wrong?

If they do, why are YOU so sure they didn't get this one wrong?

If you go back and listen to interviews pre-draft, it was pretty clear Russel was a moron and wasn't going to do anything. He was able to get by on mostly talent until he got to college. He still would have been a first round pick based on his elite skillset, but if it wasn't Al Davis running things I have a feeling he would have dropped because most teams can tell when a guy is an idiot.

because they didn't get it wrong. He has the physical talent, thats not why he failed. Failing in teh nfl doesn't mena you don't have the physical talent every time. Russells lack of motivation makes that pretty obvious

why are you so sure his failure wasn't a motivational thing? The difference is he looked vastly different when he was motivated vs when he wasn;t

Question: what is talent? If one shows talent in college, does that mean you'll show talent in the NFL?

Talent is measured against your current compeition

True, his failure COULD be due to lack of motivation.

But see my previous post and tell where the evidence is that he ever had the talent to play in the NFL?

Yes because one is unmotivated to complete passes....

    Same old JEts fans.

I hope the Jets do sign him, they'll get what they deserve

The rest of us will get to continue ridiculing the Jets just like we have for several years with Sanchez.

    A win win situation!
