Well, it isn't as if he showed promise and then went down a bad road. When given the opportunity he showed nothing to indicate he could play at the NFL level.

There isn't a franchise QB in the draft, you're not going to find one in FA, if he gets in shape give him a chance... people forget how piss poor Oakland was when he was the QB on that roster. Don't see why people are freaking out over this.

Again, why is it embarrassing because a website publishes unfounded speculation about a team? Russell deserves a second chance just like anyone does, but he isnt close to being ready to play in the NFL at the moment. The Jets, just like any other team, might have a look at the guy; but nobody is hiring a 310 lbs QB.

310 lbs is a BIG man. I mean, if Big Ben is 260/270-ish and you look at the size of him, imagine being 50 lbs heavier. He's in shape to play on the O Line at that sort of weight maybe... not QB.
