More recently, after Tannenbaum was let go, members of the organization had some very exploratory, informal discussions regarding former Oakland Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell, the 2007 No. 1 overall pick who flamed out of the NFL after the 2009 season. Russell recently decided to mount a comeback in hopes of returning to the league next season
wouldn't put it past the Jets to do this

LOL Of course the Jets would have interest.... Tim Tebow didn't work out so who else but Jamarcus Russell.

All I can do is laugh and hope it happens. Then we all get to enjoy the fans attempts at justifying this signing.

"Very exploratory, informal discussions regarding Russell"

An article about nothing, blown up because it's the Jets. And people wonder why the Jets are a "circus."

No one will be laughing when Alex Smith takes the Jets to the SB.

I feel worse for Russell than Jets fans. I hope he doesn't sign with the Jets. He has some raw talent, but he needs to go to a team that can help him develop his remaining talent, not waste it.

This is how it has to happen doesn't it? The Jets have to bottom out so dramatically that they can finally be ripped apart and rebuilt.

It makes sense really.... They go from Tebow a guy that would sacrifice everything for the good of his team to Jamarcus Russell who won't run 5 yards unless it is for a free pack of skittles.

Probably the most poorly run franchise in all of sports
