Bears hired recently retired S Chris Harris as a defensive quality control coach.

    Roto:

Bears hired recently retired S Chris Harris as a defensive quality control coach.
Harris announced his retirement just two days. A playmaker who intercepted 16 passes and forced 13 fumbles in 101 career games, Harris will impart his turnover-creating wisdom on Chicago's DBs.
    Interesting..

Huh....a 2-time Bear. Did he leave on good terms either time?? I didn't think he did.

He did say on B&B the other day that he wanted to get into coaching now that he officially retired.

QC is the exact way you get into that in the NFL. Good for Chris.

Played for Mel Tucker in JAX. RT @danpompei: Former Bears S Chris Harris hired as defensive quality control coach with Bears, source says.

Why does hiring Chris Harris as a coach make sense for the Bears? My take:
Harris always was known as a student of the game and became the player he was in part because of film study. What's more, he played for new Bears defensive coordinator Mel Tucker in Jacksonville. In his new role as defensive quality control coach, Harris will rely on his knowledge of the game.

No, Pompei, in his new role as DQC, he'll spend 80 hours a week watching and cutting up film. He's not going to be doing any 'coaching'.
