I'm with ya Sick. You can't build a team with one hand while letting your best players walk away with the other.

    Said who? Reyes? When?

There was every intention to resign him at a price agreeable and affordable to the team.
"The 90 wins is about challenge. It's about changing the conversation. It's about framing questions for ourselves as to how we get there. So I stand by the notion that we need to get better, and in doing so we need to set concrete goals for ourselves so that we have sort of specific conversations among ourselves about how we're going to get there." -- Mr. Alderson

Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Say if we kept Reyes, where would Murphy be?
Is it realistic that we could of gotten a solid prospect or decent OF for Murphy last year?

What you read doesn't necessarily = the truth. And I think that was all just speculation from some reporters anyway (that Reyes would take less from the Mets). Others disagreed. And even if other sources said they would've taken 100/6...it doesnt make it true. It didn't happen, so we don't know whether its true.

if they knew all along they weren't going to sign him/couldnt afford him...the dumbest part of all was not trading him.

    Bull Hmph!

    Bull Hmph!

Unless of course you're saying there was every intention to resign him at their ridiculously non competitive price.

Wright has gotten huge over the past season or 2. His forearms look like he works as a damn lumberjack in the offseason
