Lakers Need 48 wins to make the playoffs

That is when the Lakers play the Celtics in Boston. The Lakers have a stretch of very beatable teams if they continue to play like they are now...they have the Hornets, Suns, Timberwolves (without Love), Pistons, Nets, then the Celtics.

If they can go on a streak, by the time they get to Rondo-less Boston...a win will put them back at a .500 winning percentage. It is a whole new season then with the Heat and Clippers coming up soon afterwards. Even though they are going on the road, the Lakers need to take advantage of their opponents...these are the games to dig out of the hole.

The odds of actually needing 48 wins to get that 8th seed are really low. It looks like it could be significantly lower.

As bad as this season has been the Lakers are only 4 games out of the 8th seed and 5 out of the 7th. Its not out of reach by any means If the last 2 games are how this team is actually going to play.

Nah, it'll be lower imo. Either way, having to face the Thunder/Spurs/or Clippers in the 1st is just going to lead to an early playoff exit.

As fans we can worry about whatever we want, but the Lakers better be worried about the next game and thats it... I would hate to see a let down vs. Hornets, or whatever their name is, who are playing decent basketball right now

Being 4 games back at this point in the season for a team with this much talent shouldn't be too tough to overcome and i doubt it will take 48 wins. if this team plays inside-out the rest of the way they will finish in the top 5.
