    sounds like a classic Internet/Raiders rumor....but again i like the idea of a smokescreen....trying to really get the value up on our #3 pick.....i hope we can trade down....

    Could be smoke n mirrors (we heard the same thing about Mack from Cal a few years back, 09'ish), even if the reporter quoted or overheard scouts, scouts make recommendations, that's it! RM & DA go through the info, deem what our team needs are and make decisions.

    Besides, everyone's mind will change 100 times between now n then! we have the combine and all of the prodays to go.

    Classic. By either intentionally spreading or allowing this rumor to spread it will influence some teams to think about trading up or altering their draft board a bit. I don't see us getting Smith....at all.

    Earlier Tuesday, I had a Twitter discussion with several readers about the idea of the Oakland Raiders taking West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith with the No. 3 pick in the NFL draft.

    There have been a lot of rumors that the Raiders could be interested in Smith.

    If you fail in the 1st rd drafting a QB, you're gonna be set back at least five years....maybe long(see Jarmarcus Russell at 320 lbs). If we take Geno Smith @ #3(crossing my fingers we won't), regardless of what we say, he's a Raider, and I'll support him 100%. But I don't want to support him though.....at least if we take him @ #3.....LOL
