Norm MacDonald is the only stand-up comedian that I have ever truly enjoyed. Most stand-up comedians rely on good material, and a lot of times the material is just not funny to me. Norm MacDonald can make the least funny jokes hilarious. Example? The joke about the moth who goes into a dentist office and tells of family troubles. The dentist asks why he went in there instead of seeing a psychiatrist and the moth answers, "Because your light was on."

It's a lame joke, but the way Norm tells it turns it into a hilarious story.

I watched one of Lewis CK's stand ups the other day (whichever one is on Netflix) and I didn't think it was funny at all.

Maybe stand up just isn't for you? Or it was an early one? But he's the best comedian working today.

Anyway, there are always ones I forget...

    Louis CK
Tig Notaro (check out her Live set that came out recently for one of the single best stand-up sets you'll ever hear)
    Jimmy Pardo
    Paul F Tompkins
    Scott Aukerman
    Garfunkel & Oates
    Kyle Kinane
    Mitch Hedburg
    Patton Oswalt
    Eddie Izzard

Mitch Hedberg is one of the few guys that actually made me laugh out loud. That guy was brilliant.

-As for Norm MacDonald. He is a decent stand-up IMO but quite possibly the funniest human being alive. If you ever have about 3 hours of free time and are near a computer w/ working internet, go on youtube and sift through all of the Norm interviews. The guy is incredible. Howard stern, Conan, and Letterman love him and bring the best out of him. He also has some hilarious riffs with Dennis Miller on Dennis' old HBO show and on his radio show.

Too bad he just doesn't give a **** about anything "hollywood"-related.
