Bobby V Returning To The Mets?

    http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/met...medium=twitter

Former Mets manager Bobby Valentine has received overtures from SNY to become part of its studio telecasts for Mets games, the Daily News reported.

The report stated Valentine's role likely would be limited to important games and capped at roughly 20.

Valentine was fired by the Boston Red Sox after one season.

SNY reportedly is expanding its pregame show to one hour for the upcoming season.

That's his best asset these days, as a commentator. I wouldn't want him anywhere near the manager's office unless he had a microphone in his hand.
"Mr. Martin Tanner, Baritone, of Dayton, Ohio made his Town Hall debut last night. He came well prepared, but unfortunately his presentation was not up to contemporary professional standards. His voice lacks the range of tonal color necessary to make it consistently interesting. Full time consideration of another endeavor might be in order."

Point very well taken and I'm rather disappointed in myself for not saying this first.

Not as a manager. The man is brilliant but insane.

You put this man anywhere near the Mets and you are asking for trouble.

Unless there is a desire to hire him as manager, I would not let Valentine get this close to the team.

The guy has dementia, he called Joe Mauer one of the best right handed hitting catchers of all time. Ortiz, said the guy is nuts, The elevator is not going to the top floor. He's been eccentric for some time now.; guys like that become over the top at some point and that's where Bobby V is. Maybe we can team him with Kiner, that would be interesting.

Misleading thread title; I almost had a stroke.
Scarecrow: I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy: How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

If he is only going to do the "important games", we'll never hear him.

Maybe during one of the telecasts he can come out with the fake mustache and glasses for old times sake.
