    Baseball Myths

Pitching wins championships, this is pretty much connected to Basketball in Defence wins championships. The truth is neither is really true. While yes your team needs to pitch well enough to win, it also needs to hit well enough to win. Yes, great rotations can nulify good lineups i'm sure the it's also right that great lineups can hammer good pitching.

Instead of saying pitching wins championships, a better phrase would be "Execution wins championships".

Any more Myths you'd like to point out?

"Barry Bonds is the greatest baseball player ever only because of steroids."

"Orioles will make the playoffs in 2013" - well only a few people believe that tho.

Your best reliever should be your closer.

I have never heard calm eyes. Also, closer mentality and winning attitude

Calm eyes and chemistry I agree with, but the rest are so easily mocked that they are on the verge of becoming undervalued.

Babe Ruth once ate 8 ounces of pine tar over a matter of $20.

Always hated the "pitching wins championships" statement...ugh

When I watched a lot of MLB Network, I recall during the 30 teams in 30 days series John Hart would always say "They play the game the right way". Ok so now I know that every team plays the game the right way, whew, glad we got that out of the way...but what the hell does that even mean?
