Roster Stat Predictions, Rotation Order, Batting Order

I wanted to start a thread about predictions for the upcoming season for the Toronto Blue Jays. With all the changes I would like you to let everyone know what you think the Batting Lineup will be with Stats, Pitching Rotation with Stats and bench player stats. Give brief descriptions to support your predictions where necessary for each section. I will start:

I believe this year we will see a more potent attack considering the balance of speed, power, and average we have throughout the lineup. This will allow opposing pitchers to make more mistakes due to speed on base paths, protection in the lineup and better hitters with Reyes, Caberra and Bonofacio. I believe Rasmus, Lawrie and Lind will benefit most from these additions and philosphy Gibbons will bring to lineup. Should be exciting

Pitching Rotation/Stats

1 - Dickey ERA 2.84 W 18 L 6
2 - Morrow ERA 3.10 W 21 L 9
3 - Buerhle ERA 3.45 W 14 L 10
4 - Johnson ERA 3.65 W 15 L 10
5 - Romero ERA 2.97 W 17 L 11

I believe our 20 game winner will be Morrow this season. He has way too much potential and is due. The others are on their averages if not a bit more just because of the offence they will have playing for them. Should result in more wins. I believe Romero will have a bounce back season with veteran in staff and injuries behind him.....2 seasons previous to last point in that direction.


Bullpen/Stats

Jansen starts as closer and Santos takes over after time. Only because Janssen has ability to go +1 inning. But a dominant 1-2 punch at the backend like Ward-Henke of the past. Santos regains form with Hentgen.

This puts my overall prediction for team reacord at 98 wins and 64 losses enough to win the AL EAST.

This is a really optimistic outlook. Morrow is my favourite pitcher on the Jays staff, but hes been injury prone the past few season. Im not really fond of Romero, but 2011 looks like his peek season. I would be happy with 2009-2010 Romero (Statistically speaking, his peripherals were better in 2010 than they were in 2011). If everything goes as planned accordingly to your predictions, this is a 100 win team... which i would love, but i just done see it happening... especially in the AL East

Ya this is pretty optimistic.......most stats you mentioned I think can be done except for...

- I dont see Rasmus hitting quite with that avg, and I dont see him getting that many steals either
- Linds BA too high
- Id be surprised to see Blanco with that production
- I think Buerhle will be up around a 4.00 ERA
- And I would be happy to see Romero bounce back with a sub 3.8 ERA , 1.3ish whip etc

But I really hope your right will everyone of your predictions !!!

iv got the same batting order as you.pitching wise i could see either romero getting the 3 spot back with a good spring training or just switching johnson and morrow.however you might be right and it wouldnt bother me at all.You dont think anyone on the jays will hit over .300?thats a hell of a lot of homeruns as well.

Cabrera - more of an RBI guy then Lawrie, and a more proven hitter to give EE protection
JPA- If he can give us the JPA we got in May and July before he got hurt, he is one heck of an RBI man

Lawrie's power makes him a middle of the lineup hitter. Cabrera's high OBP makes him ideal at the top of the lineup. 1 through 5, it should be as Gibbons has said; Reyes, Cabrera, Bautista, Encarnacion, Lawrie. If Lind shocks everyone and returns to form, he gets put ahead of Lawrie in all likelihood, just to break up the righties.

I hope you are right with these two in particular. Bautista coming off the wrist injury, and Encarnacion with his career year last season makes me wonder if they are going to produce this season. One good thing with Bautista is his ability to lay off bad pitches, so at least OBP should remain high.
