Who will be the Saints Defensive Coordinator (3-4 specialists only)

Ok, so the list of possible candidates is nearly endless, though Sean Payton and Mickey Loomis have said that they'll take their time with this hire. The #1 name out there, in my opinion is Romeo Crennel. With that said, there are a LOT of options. I've listed a lot of guys in the poll, some were mentioned by media members as obvious candidates and some are guys who might be ready for a shot that I'm just throwing into the discussion

I want to change my vote because I put Romeo because thats who I'd pick.

The queston is who will it be? so I think thats going to be someone else I'm gonna lock in Eric Mangini because I see a Patriots connection here. Mangini and Bellichek and Payton. Bellichek being the one that brings these two together I'ma guess.

Romeo or Perry Johnson would be happy with any 1 of those guys. By I'm leaning to Johnson I think belichick is gonna give Him a pretty good recommendation.

too bad Payton didn't come back 2 weeks ago, maybe we could have gotten Ray Horton

Here are my choices at the moment:

    Defensive Coordinator

    Mike Singletary
Lovie Smith (anybody know if he has ANY 34 experience?)
    Kevin Green
    Ray Lewis

    Secondary Coach

    Darren Sharper

I want a fierce, fiery winner as our next DC... Gotta have smarts to pick apart offenses and be an amazing motivator.

Not gonna happen. He's run a Tampa 2 combo with a 4-3 defense exclusively and its well known he will not take a Defensive Coordinator job. He'll sit out the year and go for a Head Coaching job next offseason

I'd love to have Ray in as a LB coach, but you don't immediately jump from player to coordinator. I like where you're going with the other options though

Schefter is reporting that we might hire Crennel AND Mangini. Wow, that would be amazing. And Darren Sharper would be an even more amazing hire for secondary coaches but I feel like the team wouldn't take him seriously, he wouldn't have much authority on these guys since they all played with him

Ok, good. Sources with the Saints organization (according to PFT) have confirmed that Romeo Crennel is higher on the list than Eric Mangini
