You like to talk out both sides of your mouth and only apply some facts when it suits your argent and dismiss the facts others bring up when they contradict that argument, them in the next post you use those facts to try and make a similar argument for another player.

This failed to make any comment about the subject at hand. You posted entirely about the poster, not the subject the poster was talking about.

No one is saying Flores is going to be a good outfielder. But I'd rather have a statue in a corner than a statue at second base.

Actually, I'd rather not have a statue anywhere. If he's as slow as everyone is telling me, he has two possible positions on the diamond: Third base and first base.

No way should he even be considered for second base, unless of course he's not as slow as some would have us believe.

And if that's the case, he should be tried out in a corner outfield position too.

There's a difference between speed and agility though. You can be positioned correctly in the infield and field the balls you get to and be successful. You can be positioned in the outfield too, but if you get burned, a slow outfielder will allow the base runner to take an extra base or two too often.

If you're that slow, your so called agility won't help you. Fair point about one base versus two. But a second baseman is involved in many more potential outs than a corner outfielder, maybe twice as many. A weak second baseman would prolong more rallies than a weak corner outfielder. To your point, you really don't want either.

You can't tell me a player being considered for a middle infield position is so slow he cant even be asked to shag a few fly balls during Spring Training, especially when his team's number one need is outfield.

MLB level, and he's not very good in the minors either. He is great at anything he can get to, but he's so slow so he doesn't get to many balls. He's still only 21 so he can get even bigger.

You're probably right, but when Flores is 26 years old, I'm sure he will be slower.

How do you expect him to play even a below average OF if you believe he will eventually be bigger than Duda and has no zero OF experience unlike Duda?

Duda is a horrendous hitter. That he is right now their best offensive outfielder on a team that has no decent offensive outfielders is precisely the point why it makes sense to see what Flores can do.

Hey, here's an idea: Maybe, just maybe, if Flores can hit major league pitching and play a passable outfield, you can platoon the two. Or maybe if it turns out Flores is a much better hitter than Duda, you give him Duda's job.

Well either way, we are acting like Flores will be ready out of spring training.

He won't be, they will look to continue to season him in AAA..

They aren't going to risk his development for the sake of not having a current major league OF. They wouldn't do that with any prospect, why do it with Flores?

If they want to try him out, they could devote the possibility of him being a full time OF to his time in Vegas but i honestly think the Mets look at Flores as either A) a possible 2nd base (albeit a longshot) or B) trade bait.

You posted that youtube video, it's not an accident that every scout says the same thing about where he will end up playing.
