does anyone play it? i posted in the politics forum instead of the gaming forum, because I figure I would get more of a response here than there.

I used to play 4 or 5, I can't remember which. Not the current version. Apparently my computer doesn't like the current version, so I can't. But it was always a game I enjoyed.

Last version I played was III. I wouldn't mind taking a stab at the new version though.

I play civ4. That is all my PC can handle.
pats, civ4 is way better than civ3. I really recommend it.
French writer Alexis de Tocqueville warned about when visiting this fledgling democracy in the early 19th century – that this "American republic will endure until politicians realize they can bribe the people with their own money."
Would someone mind explaining what this is to me?

what is this game?
I have it. I haven't played much in the past couple of months as things have been very busy, but I do have Gods and Kings expansion pack and all the DLC.
Civilization 4 Beyond The Sword is the best version so far. 5 is mediocre, IMO.
if you enjoy politics, current events, and history....you'll LOVE this game. it's a nation building simulation/strategy game. the best way I can describe it is that it's a combination of Sim City and Age of Empires. I gave it a try back when I was in 7th grade, because I liked strategy games. I had good ratings so I thought "eh...why not?" and I was immediately hooked. and i've stuck with it ever since. in fact, Civilization was the reason why I got really into history and politics. i forgot which Civilization it was...2 or 3...included the history of all the different countries, their leaders, and units that were in the game, and I would read it as I play the game. here's the game's website: http://www.civilization5.com/
but yea, it's the one game I never get tired off. i might take a several month hiatus every once in awhile, but I always go back to it.
