Jets to explore trading Darelle Revis?

CBS' Jason La Canfora reports the Jets will "explore" Darrelle Revis' trade market.
According to La Canfora, owner Woody Johnson has "strong reservations" about the team's ability to extend Revis beyond the final year of his contract next season, and wants to "attempt to land value for Revis now, rather than risk losing him" in free agency. It's a sign the Jets are serious about rebuilding and addressing their cap issues, but it would be strange timing to trade Revis, as he's coming off a torn ACL. Selling low on your best player isn't recommended in any sport. However, a clause in Revis' contract prevents the Jets from using on him, so the danger of losing him next winter is real. Even coming off a major knee injury, interest in Revis should be robust if he's really made available.

Was just about to post this. I'd be curious to see how much someone would be willing to give up. Obviously he's a great player but he's coming off an injury and has a history of contract squabbles.

I'd give up a first for this guy, even coming off ACL surgery. Could be a HUGE get for someone. Dude shuts down one half of the field.

No, he shuts down one receiver. If there are 4 receivers, how is he shutting down an entire half of the field?

Okay, smart***. I'm sure everyone else totally understand what I mean. But he does help other players be better, by him being 1 on 1 with the best WR, they can double team the next best guy, which could line up next to him in 4 WR set, and they'd shut down the whole half of the field

Wow...I wonder if they could convince Detroit to give up their 1st rounder?

Oakland should hop on this. Trade/exchange picks. They can't go with Mike Huff at CB again.

So, Revis and 2 other DBs (more than half of the secondary) can shut down an entire half of the field?

Do you remember Jason Sehorn? That offer is insane. A DB needs great COD, backpeddles, etc. A far cry from an RB before the Petersen card is played.
