Raiders hired former Jets OC Tony Sparano as offensive line coach.

The former Dolphins' head man will also serve as an assistant head coach. They're the exact same titles he held with the Cowboys from 2003-07. Sparano was out of his depth as the Jets' play-caller, but has always been viewed as a solid line coach, and adds credibility to neophyte coach Dennis Allen's reshuffled staff. It's doubtful Sparano is ever called on again to lead a team or offense, but he should be able to coach linemen as long as his heart desires.

I like the hire as long as the raiders do not allow him to ever call an offensive play

For sure. Major whiff by Parcells in the HC department.

About his level. Think he'll be a very good line coach for them.

The last year that he was an O-line coach....

He sucks at calling plays, but the reason he ended up calling plays is because he excelled at coaching the O-line unit.

I think it's a great hire... A former head coach to position coach is a steal in any case, IMO.

This is a solid hire. I think this move works out well for both parties as Oakland continues to modernize their organizational approach post Al Davis and Sporano lands on his feet in a capacity that he excels at.

Like it for my Raiders... And I don't lie a lot about my beloved Raiders

Quick prediction... Well, I'm hoping... Raiders will draft Luke Joekel or Eric Fisher...
