Jim Vandermeer waived; Jordan Schroeder called up; new lineups

Vandermeer was waived yesterday, Schroeder was called up today. Here's the lineup that was at practice:

Daniel - Henrik - KASSIAN (YES!)
    Higgins - Burrows - Hansen
    Raymond - Schroeder - Weise
    Lapierre - Manny - Volpatti

    Ebbett odd man out.

    D the same.

Why was Schroeder sent down in the first place?

    AV is nuts.

But really, AV likes Ebbett and wanted to give him a chance. Ebbett failed miserably. Schroeder's turn.

It wasn't because he didn't make the team. Gillis hinted that there were some sort of financial repercussions. Does anyone know about rookie status issues? I think that was what he was getting at.

Burrows is actually a decent face off man and very good in his own zone. I like it. Kassian has been one of our best players so good on AV. All in all I like it.

If this lineup lasts for a while, this is where we really see how good Kassian can be, and maybe where he fits into our future plans.

I like that it gives Burrows a very meaningful role and doesn't just demote him from the top line in favour of Kassian.

Kassian has earned the right to stay on the top line for now, and Burrows can contribute solidly on the second. Now they both have to produce. Both have important roles.
