    How bout 3/13?

Is 189 for 2013 now too? There's been a couple guys that could have helped that signed for 1 year deals.

    Berkman - 1 yr/$10M, Reynolds - 1 yr/$6M, Napoli - 1 yr/$5M

I mean none of these guys are perfect players but compared to what we currently have they look great.

Go grab Carlos Lee for a dollar.

He could pull a big season out of his fat azz.

I don't want him in there just because of his salary and name. If he isn't producing, he shouldn't play. Other players may not produce like he's capable of, but they would be producing something nonetheless.

Youkilis and Nunez or whomever they decide to play could very well surprise all of us and be solid players, putting up A-Rod type numbers (the type of numbers from last season or better, not his .315/40/110 glory days). Mind you, I mean in the aggregate, not one player.
What makes you think Nunez or Youk could put up the #s ARod did last season?

Berkman didn't want anything to do with the Yankees

Napoli originally signed a 3 year deal and had it restructured

    Reynolds is garbage

Youk's HR/RBI totals were > A-Rod's in 2012 and both guys played in exactly 122 games. A-Rod's batting average was higher.

I doubt Nunez can do what either of them did.

Cashman said today on WFAN that it is very possible that ARod could miss the entire season.

Last season ARod posted a .342 wOBA. Youk's was roughly 15 points lower. And Nunez.... well comparing him to either isn't even fair at this point. Sure, Arod is declining. So is Youk. But the comparison isn't between those 2 anyway. Because even if both were healthy, both are VASTLY better than Nunez.

One thing i don't get at all is why people want arod to be out for the year, if we save money on insurance it doesn't help out our cap in anyway. It's not like its money we get back in our own pockets. ShLt it worries me how hal is being frugal. Don't get me wrong i think it's good that we are being wise with how we spend but to a point where i can't defend it anymore. If we don't resign cano it will be clear cut where this team is headed financeially. Nor does it help us win any games. I hated arod prior to him coming here but i appreciate everything he did for us. I want him to come back and be a force or even be a 25-90 player. I still hate his guts but he plays for us so you gotta root for him. I just don't get how cynical some fans can be. How can you wish someone to be hurt all year when all he did was win mvps and a world series for us.

The other thing is he sucked donkey dlick in the playoffs but he was hurt i think thats a damn good reason why he couldn't catch up to an 89 mph fastball down the middle. Yet everyone wants him gone. He's earned the chance to be able to attempt to come back.
