Our team is terrible. Nobody good.

You should always put the wins first, then the losses. I think 100 wins is a bit high, but you never know.

Looks like Pettitte bounced from WBC by Yanks brass.

    Good.

If it were me, I wouldn't let any of our guys play in the WBC. Extra games, opportunities to get injured, all for games that no one cares about.

Yeah, I wouldn't want him, especially, to play in the WBC. He's older, could get injured and then boom, we need to actually make a move for a pitcher. Oh wait, they'd probably sign Vazquez or some ****. Thank god he's not playing.

A-Rod may not even come back this season. At least, Cashman says it's not "guaranteed".

So, he said he might come back. Or he might not.

    Oh.

If I had to guess, I think he might come back or he might not.

I don't get everyone's hope that he's not back and we collect insurance. So Hal and Hank save a few more bucks? And we don't have a 3rd baseman or DH? How does this make the team better?

I see it like this... If he continues to struggle, how is he making our team better? I mean, if he hits like he did in the postseason then there's no reason to have him play. I want him to do well, don't get me wrong. I hope he comes back and absolutely mashes. But if he doesn't, I don't want it to hurt our team. I don't want him in there just because of his salary and name. If he isn't producing, he shouldn't play. Other players may not produce like he's capable of, but they would be producing something nonetheless.

Youkilis and Nunez or whomever they decide to play could very well surprise all of us and be solid players, putting up A-Rod type numbers (the type of numbers from last season or better, not his .315/40/110 glory days). Mind you, I mean in the aggregate, not one player.

"Best case scenario, yeah he should be back," Cashman said. "Worst case scenario is he won't be back, or there might be something between."

Whats in between coming back or not coming back?

With Cashman acknowledging that there is a chance A-Rod doesn't come back this year I think a good follow-up question would be why are they not going after someone that can actually hit the ball to play DH.
