Report: The 2015 All-Star Game will be in Cincinnati

According to John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer, the Reds will host the 2015 All-Star Game. MLB commissioner Bud Selig is expected to make the announcement when he’s in Cincinnati on Wednesday.

This will be the first All-Star Game at Great American Ballpark and the first in Cincinnati since 1988 at Riverfront Stadium. Many speculated that the Nationals would host the 2015 Midsummer Classic, but the decision to give it to the Reds likely takes them off the board until 2017.

This year’s All-Star Game will take place at Citi Field, home of the Mets, while the 2014 All-Star Game will be hosted by the Twins at Target Field.

Miami and Tampa have never even hosted it, and the Phillies are one of the 18 teams to have hosted it twice (76 and 96).

This will be the Reds third time, Angels have had it three times, Astros three times, Twins will have had it three times in 2014, and the Mets held the longest drought of not hosting (since 64).

It hasn't been hosted in Petco or DC either (in terms of new parks, or the New Yankee stadium, but they just had it)

Yeah i am surprised it hasn't been more balanced..

Maybe it's nepotism and politics but i am pretty sure i know the reason why the Mets had the longest drought between hosting all star games and that was Shea Stadium.

As much love as i am have for Shea (nostalgia), it was a **** hole.

The reds stadium is ugly to me for a new stadium. It looks run down and it's not even old.
