Who is the hardest hitter in the NFL?

I've seen huge hits from Baltimore's Bernard Pollard this season (and throughout his career), as well as Oakland's Tyvon Branch but wanted to gauge PSD's opinion on the NFL's hardest hitter. Videos would be ideal and I would like to keep it within a time frame of the past two to three seasons. For me Pollard is the most violent hitter in the game. I've caught a few of the Ravens' games this season and it seems as though he has no regard for his own personal safety. What he has lacked in coverage throughout his career he makes up for violent game-changing hits. He seems to have found his niche in Baltimore's scheme as Reed's uncanny coverage skills fully allow Pollard to provide an impact in the 'box'.

*I'd like to keep this within the framework of legal hits, although, even if a penalty was called on the play and it indeed was a legal hit we should welcome it.

    **Posthumous Honoree: Sean Taylor.

It's Bernard Pollard. Used to be Ray Lewis or maybe Ed Reed. It's crazy, but from about 1998-2003 it was Lewis, then from 2004-2006 it was Reed and then from about 2007-pres it's been Pollard.

    Just filled with Ravens.

Dashon Goldson... pro-bowler, all-pro, and gets a ton of unnnecessary roughness calls. He has also hurt several opposing players, mostly WR's...

His tackling may be a little underrated. Good call.

Goldston, it's not close. Second is Whitner.

Goldston may kill a man on the field one day. He hits are pretty grizzly.

How is it not Pollard after his demolition of the Patriots?

Joe mays has beastly hits. As for the guy that said Ed Reed was the biggest hitter in the nfl at one point....... Sorry bud. Brian Dawkins and John lynch and Sean Taylor say what's up during those years.

Bernard Pollard. I've thought that long before yesterday.
